Sunday Stash:: Sorting

I had the chance this morning to check out a few garage sales, and estate sales that I saw go up on Friday. I have been dying to get out of the house and see some. Well today Mr. Fantastic watched Sophie, so I could go. (so long as I promised to bring back lunch of course)
I didn't find much today, but I won't let it get me down. The summer has just started here, and we have lots to see still. I did come across these tall rectangular jars. I brought them home and put buttons and thread in them. I only wanted them to sit and look pretty while they held my notions.
Then my dear husband says... "you know those are for spaghetti right" Ha ha obviously he is not a crafter. I told him to think outside the box a little. (he is learning)

And here is my recent order from you know who. My all time favorite shop Fabric Supplies on Etsy. They are by far the best online shop I have ever used and I keep going back still to this day. You all should go check out Charlie and Lindsey's shop and pick up something nice for yourself. Tell them I sent ya, and you couldn't resist the urge. LOL

Sophia's Big Day

So remember a few weeks ago I told everyone that Sophia was turning a year old. Well these are her birthday pictures, we just got them back today. If your a mom you know that feeling that warms you heart when you see your little boy or girl all dressed up for a fun day of pictures. The day that their smile is hopefully at it's biggest ever.

The picture lady thought I was weird when I told her just to let Sophie act naturally and play. Although the photographer got quite frustrated I am sure, Sophie's pictures turned out great. I just wanted to share a few with all of you. Isn't she precious.

New in the shop:: Designer Carryall Clutch

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO MAY 26th POST FOR SMS GIVEAWAY

Isn't it beautiful. This started as a little something I made for myself. On the left side I would put my fabric swatches that I needed to remind me what I was looking for at the fabric shops. (I get sidetracked easily) On the right holds my notepad for memos' grocery lists. It also hold my calculator and coupons. But the best part is that because of the type of closure I used for it, Not only is it cute but semi expandable. I just through it in Sophie's diaper bag, and there is no need for a purse. OH how I love thee.....

After receiving so may compliments on the clutch, I decided to make a new design for my shop. Something that could caiter to everyone, for whatever reason. I added a second pocket to the left and a cute little applique on the right, a pen lined with matching fabric, and a notebook.

Now this is a basic design, I am sure that some people will have needs for different things, that is why I just love custom orders!

So pick one up when you stop by Sew-Fantastic if you buy one during the SMS giveaway Day (ends on Sunday the 31st. ) I will ship it for free .. Just enter Code NEWINSHOP to the notes to seller section of your page. My favorite already sold but you can still get one. Custom orders are also welcome for this discount! Have a great day Everyone, and hello all you new readers, I promise to stop by soon.

Sunday Stash :: Katie Jump Rope

Isn't she lovely.....
I purchased this after seeing the stack over at The Sometimes Crafter's Mom's Blog. My first fabric purchase from Sew, Mama, Sew!
Everything was packaged so pretty.
I have a confession to make though...
I bought this almost 3 weeks ago maybe even a month, and today was the first time I took it out of the package. It just looks so yummy I cant bear to open it. Maybe I will put it together with my reds and yellows to make it even more beautiful. I do have plans for it, I am just to busy to start right now.
I am doing a Giveaway on Wednesday May 27th, in honor of Giveaway Day as well as my 100th Post! Can you believe it? How the time flies. Grab a BIG cup of coffee, and a ton of free time to go through what I hear to be about 200 different giveaways all linked to one blog over at Sew, Mama, Sew!

For the love of FELT::

I have been wanting to buy a bundle of felt to experiment with. The opportunity came to me when a lovely Estian asked me if I would be interested in doing a trade with her. She wanted me to pick something from her store, to trade for one of my wallets.

What a great idea huh. As I looked through her store I found this beautiful stack of felt calling my name. We both set up a listing to pay the shipping differences, then it was on it's way to me. I opened the box and fell in love.

Now I am still not sure what I will do with it. For now I just love to look at the stack just the way it was sent to me. Like a rainbow of fuzziness with a pretty little satin bow.
Anyone have any ideas on felt projects? Or maybe a great link to some projects made with felt. The squares are 4.5 x 4.5 so not very large, but still beautiful.

Sunday Stash:: Screen Printed

I am starting a new fetish for screen printed fabric, like I need another "thing". The left in yellow is a mix of 55% Hemp and 45% cotton. The right is the same print in 55% linen, and 45% cotton. I bought both of these particular prints over at OfPaper&Thread.
I have not yet decided what to do with them yet because they are scrap pieces, but it has inspired me to find more. Check out these other screen print shops I found.

You can also visit other Sunday Stash posters here.

New Business Cards::

I just confirmed my order for new Business cards. I never really announced it, but I changed my Etsy store name to match my blog. Name recognition is key for Etsy as well as the whole crafting community. You are represented by a tiny icon, and when people see that icon they know what to expect. I hope that my icon shows quality, as well as creativity.
So what do you all think? If your interested in knowing where I had my logo created just email me. The guy does great work and it's always a one of a kind design to whoever orders from him.
I almost forgot to tell you what I went with for the back. Sure it's a little extra, but I wanted a reason for someone to want to keep my business card. I would hate to know that they went into a garbage can. So I put a tip chart on the back. easily accessible from your wallet when you are unsure what to tip your fabulous waitress.

Ahhh the sweet sound of needle and thread

I finished up quite a few orders today for the shop, I am very proud that have caught myself up. Last night I was in mass production mode. You know when you hit 5 or more items in stages thinking you are getting more accomplished, when your really not. I got all my housework done, and the baby to bed only to sit down ready to work and run out of thread 15 minutes later.

WHAT!!! Are you serious? As much thread as I buy, yes I ran out of white, this color I have been using most now days. I had already used all my reserve as well. So I stumbled to bed with another disappointing work night. You better believe the next time thread is on sale I will wipe them out!! Don't worry just the white. :)

So today I finished up my mass production session of 12 wallets. Four new ones for the shop, and some more orders as well. I have gotten a great response from them. I have been working on a new project for almost a month, trying to perfect exactly how I want to present it for my store. I know you are all curious, so here is a sneak peak. Coming soon to Sew Fantastic.

My first prototype that is close to what I actually was going for, yet not quite there.... stay tuned!!

Love my new scrap bins

I got these a few weeks ago, but I don't think I had the chance to share them with all of you. I got these ginger blossom baskets at Joann's of all places. Can you believe it? The other great thing besides the fact that they are HUGE, is they were half price. I paid about 7 dollars a basket. Got get some!!

I am now keeping my heap loads of scraps in them right now, and one is used for taking packages to the post office. I love all the compliments I get.

The new sewing machine has been a godsend. I have not had a bad sewing day since I got it. I think my next purchase will be a serger since I am making Sophie some clothes now. Anyone know of a good, inexpensive one?

I will leave you all with a picture from Sophie's first birthday. Hope everyone had a great mothers day, I sure did

Ahhh Mothers Day::

Look what I received in my email today. How pretty are these! I love mothers day. Last year this time I was in the hospital having Sophia. I went into labor on the 7th late at night, and she was born the morning of the 8th. Because of an emergency C-section, I didn't leave the hospital until Mothers day with my new baby girl.
Now that she is turning a year, it makes me sad. Sad that it went by so fast, yet happy that there is so much more to come. Children really are a blessing in so many ways. I cannot possibly imagine my life without her now. My new favorite word now, "MOM" I love it every time she says it to me. I don't think I will ever get tired of it.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL THE MOMS.

New Etsy Finds

My discovery this week, the cutest thing, and what a great idea. Check out these Ouchy Eaters I found on Etsy. Made by gigglinggoldfish . They live in the freezer, and are filled with 100% Organic Flax Seeds. Perfect for those little ones when they get little boo boo's.
I just thought I needed to share this super amazing creative idea. I am sure the kids love them. I should get one for Sophia.
Another great find also on etsy, was these wallies. Made by byrdiekids They come in your choice of colors, and in 4 different animals. Great for kids to learn not only the animals, but also the words. Also check out their Garden version to .
What a great way to decorate a child's room.

What have you all found on Etsy or anywhere else that is unique and clever? Maybe you make something you want to share? Well?? What is it?

So much to do ....So little time to do it!

So the other morning this was my start. 6am, hot coffee, cold sewing machine, quiet house,... well ok for about 10 minutes maybe. I woke up to quite a few Etsy orders all at once. So my time has been trying to get some sewing done to fill up my store again. I have so many cool fabrics that I want to create with, only no time to create. What a bummer huh.

So I got about half of them ready to go out, I shall work on the other half tomorrow. That way next weeks focus is all new inventory. It makes me so very happy to hear from my buyers on how much they love my items. It bring a certain calming to me, I can't explain it. To see a pattern made into a product, then played with by children that I made, warms my heart. You wanna know what else warms my heart?

This pretty little girl does, and tomorrow mommie made a little time for the park!
(check out the cute ruffle pants I made her)

So I am sorry for disapearing for a bit, I need to catch up on checking out all your blogs, leaving some love, and working on my swap. What's everyone else been up to?? Summer is coming you know. Did you sign up for the giveaway yet??? Scroll down and do it!!
Talk to you all soon.
