Single Girl Support Group ~ Giveaway

Nothing like a yummy set of fabrics to set the mood on a new quilting adventure. I have wanted to make this quilt for a very long time, and thanks to this wonderful group of ladies we can all join in on the fun.

Come join us for the Single girl quilt along, and don't forget to join the single girl support group while your at it.

To celebrate this fun adventure, I am giving away 2 bundles of KJR (Katie Jump Rope) by Denyse Schmidt.
Each bundle has enough fabric to make the pattern with a little left over depending on what size you choose. There is a 1/8 yard each of 27 prints. (not all of them are here but almost ) see the photo below for exact bundles you can win. I will choose 2 people to win on Monday January 30th.
International entries are welcome.

1:: Leave a comment about how this fabric makes you feel, what you would make with it if not this quilt, how badly do you want this bundle ;)  Just about anything about this fabric I will accept, it's one of my favorite lines.

2:: If your a follower of my blog I will add in another entry into the contest.

GOOD LUCK!!!

  2. KJR keeps growing on me - the beauty is that even a non-quilter can get some KRJ/single girl goodness if they want to fork over some cashola! But of course, I would never deprive myself of the satisfaction of making it myself!

  3. Suh-weeeeet! Loveloveloving the KJR. I would probably just pet the pile and stare at it before realizing that I can pet it and stare at it EVEN BETTER if it's made into a quilt! Such a great giveaway Terri! Thanks so much for the chance!

  4. I have loved KJR since it first came out but never owned any. I would love to win!

  6. It's so beautiful! I love the happy colors! I probably wouldn't make this quilt, because I am not A Quilter and the curves scare me, but I would make a quilt, a very simple one.

  7. KJR...strong, bold, gutsy, colorful, and yet tasteful... just like a single girl!!! I would like to use this bundle to create a quilt using Julie Herman's "boxed in, block" featured in quilt makers 100 blocks.

  10. I probably would not make the single girl, but I would make a fantastic kaleidoscope quilt with this line - I can see it all in my head and it would be the best quilt ever!

  16. I love this line! It reminds me of popsicles, riding your bike with all the neighborhood kids, giggles, the sun, playing those hand/clap games with the coordinating songs with your girlfriends... hide and seek, overall, summer fun as a kid. Bright, cheery and so happy!!

I would definitely quilt these up! Not this particular pattern, but a quilt for sure!

I've joined the Single Gal Support group and can't wait for this quilt along to get started!!

  17. I love this line too. Its so "happy" I would love to make this quilt with it! There are a few other quilts I would use this line for too, but this one would be fun! Thanks for the giveaway...and I am a follower!

  18. second- i love this fabric! it makes my heart smile...like the smell of cookies baking! L.U.V. it...my LQSes did carry it, so i missedo ut on it :( *fingers crossed*

    thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yay! I'd give my right arm for that darn green basketweave... can't wait to get started, I've only had the patternf or two years :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. This fabric is so reminicent of years gone by...such deep hues of the primaries. I would probably put this into a quilt for a little boy...my son has gotten his final dosier finished for their adoption of an infant boy from Ethiopia...they should have him no later than Christmas this year..it's been such a long process. These would more than likely end up in a quilt for that child...maybe a bowtie pattern set in circles? It would be in keeping with the feel of the fabric line....

  21. KJR just makes me happy. The moment I first spotted the KJR ribbons in the fairway green colorway I knew it was love. The entire line is like a 2010 refashioning of my childhood (late 70s, early 80s).

  24. I am making fabric covered buttons and fabric covered canvas and a baby quilt! FABRIC is my crafting weakness. Hope I win! Thanks for the giveaway!

  25. I am SO excited about this quilt along - My pattern is in the mail. I am anxious too - this is the first really pieced quilt I have made in a long time. I took a wedding ring class 10 years ago - so I am excited to try it again. This quilt line makes me feel - um, mostly envy since I have none:) It would make a great scrappy/ happy quilt.

  32. I was considering attempting this quilt along. Im a single girl ;) I really enjoy the crisp, freshness of this line. It is one the few fabrics that make me drool when I see it. By the time I joined the quilting world I could only manage to find bits and pieces.

  34. Oh my goodness, it makes my heart flutter. how's that? I would definitely make a quilt. I do love the single girl so that would be in the running but I think I would have to hold the fabric and look at it for a bit before deciding and chopping into it!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I adore this line of fabric and mainly only have the greens and yellows from it :-) If I owned the ENTIRE line... I think a single girl quilt would be in order for sure!!! Thanks for such a generous giveaway!

This is a seriously awesome giveaway, thanks for the chance!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Whenever I see this fabric I wish that I had discovered quilting about a year earlier. Then I would have lucky enough to have had my fabric obsession when this fabric line was actually available to purchase. I'm pretty sure I would dump my current single girl plan and make my quilt in this line if I won it. Thanks for the giveaway!

  49. When I saw your first picture up on my reader, I gasped and said, "oh, that's gorgeous." I thought I recognized the fabrics, but wasn't sure. As I read on, I realized they were indeed KJR. Oh, I so badly want this bundle. I wasn't smart enough to get in on the Katie Jump Road craze when I had the chance. Now it's too late. Sigh! I'm not sure what I'd make with it, if not the Single Girl, but whatever I make with it, I would absolutely love. Thanks so much for offering this giveaway.

  53. Oh my, oh My!!! I can't taype fast enough! PLEEEEEEEASE ph random number generator gods, pick meeeeeeee! We haven't met yet, Terri-- but I have heard tons about you from Jen and I look forward to meeting you one of these days! I have been loooonging to make this single girl quilt, I THOUGHT that I didn't HAVE to have the KJR to make it (I was just delusional) every time I see the combination I alllllmost spend way too much on ebay trying to gobble it up! But, alas, I still just have a couple prints! This would settle my heart once and for all! I just love the simple-ness of it, and the almost only primary pallet with the brown and aqua. mmmmmm, what is there NOT to love!?

  54. Oh this fabric makes me think of spring & warm weather & happy thoughts & kids in the park playing & flower gardens...... it sort of takes me away from this winter we are having. If I won I would make the Single Girl quilt.

  55. I really love this line because of it's spectrum of colors - it is truly like a rainbow. If I won this - I probably would do something dresden-platish (you know what I mean).

    ReplyDelete
  56. KJR reminds me of my grandparents. They had a great backyard table set that was remakably close to these colors. Every time I see it I think of them. I think because of that, I would want to make some sort of a spinning wheel quilt that would remind me of that umbrella :)

I don't know what I'd make, my chance is that they'd be used to enhance my other stuff... my goal this year is to mix lines, and KJR is such a great addition. :)

  69. This is one of my favorite lines as well, has been since I first saw it. However, I saw it for the first time after it was out of print:(. 88. Do you have a fever? Are you delirious in any way? Have you really thought this through? Most importantly, are you leaving any delicious KJR for yourself???? This giveaway ROCKS my socks off Terri! (and so does your new profile pic, btw). I wish so badly that I could do the quilt a long, but I've pledged to sew my own version of Denyse's Proverbial quilt for our bed this year and I know it's gonna take a while. If I was to be the luck KJR winner, first I will covet. Then stroke. Then refold and place on stash shelf in it's very own spot. Then eventually the oranges might make their way into my ever-expanding orange collection (for an as yet undecided project). I honestly can't tell if I'd keep it all together for one big quilt, or make use of the colourways in a blended-line quilt. How's that for an answer? BIG thanks for such a fine opportunity.

  89. Cheerfully following along, as usual.

  135. I think I would keep it out on my sewing table for a little while...just to be able to gaze at it through out the day would make me happy. Then when I got brave enough I would turn it into a quilt and add the scrapps to a my ticker tape stash.

  142. Ok, I sOOOOOO *NEED* this bundle!! It HAS to be me! I am just starting my quilting journey (my first quilt ever, I finished a week ago, is a Queen size I Dance in Cirlces by trayceyjay) but these circles make me a bit nervous. So I could go for one of my "meandering" blocks I have been eye-ing to purchase patterns :) I LOVE the bright happy colors- I think all my quilts will wind up being that way ;)

  151. The single girl quilt is seriously on my to-do list, but I've not pony'ed up the time to try it...I've even tempted myself with the thought of purchasing the quilt already stitched up from Pottery Barn...GASP! I love Denyse Schmidt's lines and this one makes me think of being 6 years old again. PERFECT for my boys and such an awesome quilt pattern

  153. Oh. My. Goodness. KJR is just so, so lovely. It makes me happy just to look at it, and almost nostalgic?

I have the pattern for Single Girl in my drawer... I'm a little intimidated by it, but MUST do it someday. This would be too perfect.
