I have been a little under the weather for a few days now, but everything is looking up. I have slowly started a few projects that have been on the back burner for a few weeks due to the handmade business.
I am excited to say that I am in my very first quilting bee and the fabric stack above are the color choices for our first receiver. I really had a lot of fun picking out the fabrics just by getting a simple color scheme.
I have also made the time to use Heathers fantastic tutorial on how to make design boards, and made myself two of them. One board is now holding the placement for my fat quarterly quilt along quilt that I hope to get pieced this weekend. The entire front is pieced using just one jelly roll. Although the blocks are not in quite the order I want yet, I did manage to decide that I wanted the lighter color inside the darker ones and visa versa.
So the light green square had a dark green center, and so on.
I also made a little personal fabric purchase for a killer idea I had a few weeks ago, we will see how it works out though. For some reason that new Dream on line by Urban Chicks just screams linen.
Also deconstruction of the sewing room has begun, I have chosen my paint color (Gentle Rain) a light gray to draw out the color of everything else a little better. White seems to wash everything out for me.
What do you think? (sorry about the lighting in the picture it was muggy yesterday)
And I got some more comic boards in the mail and finished up some folding for my fabric display... I can't wait to reveal it all when I am done.
What did you accomplish this week? Relaxing? Sewing? Vacation...... oh how I wish!
Happy Sewing.
Just love your design wall...and what is on it. Your color choices are so amazing, that is what I love about your blog .... your ideas are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link on how to make a design board. I am sure my family will appreciate not having to walk on pins and needles while I have a quilt laying out on the living room floor and saying every two minutes " dont step on the blocks" lol.

I love your choice of wall color. I think white washes out too.
Sorry you have been under the weather, so hard to get anything done when you feel like that. I hope your feeling better soon!
