Sunday Project, originally uploaded by sewfantastic2009.
Today me and little Sophia stopped by our local Craft Warehouse to pick up some fabric. We couldn't resist these cute little glass Jars. Here was the first thing that came to mind when we saw them.
Something to deocrate our craft room.
This is how we made it.
Supplies::
All of these things were found at our local craft supply store. Additional tools that were need are, small screwdriver set
picture hooks to nail into board back.
scissors
hammer
paper towel
First we took the plain board and dobbled a few drops of this pretty Aqua paint on it. Then with a paper towel we smoothed it into the wood, making sure to still keep the woodgrain like look of the board. Just enought to tint it to the color aqua was all it needed. Let it dry before going any further.
Then we measured 3 equal sections to install the coat hooks to the board. Two little screws kept these little babies down and durable.
After the hooks were installed we cut out the words of the phrase we choose and moved them around until they were in a spot that we liked most.
Using the popcicle stick provided in the kit press the paper over the letters to make them stick to the board. When you think they have a nice grip, remove the paper slowly making sure to not catch any of the letters.
After you are finished flip the board over and install the picture hanger, so that the board can hang on the wall.
You can embelish the board with stickers, buttons, fabric and more. Then hang your favorite Jars on the hooks and VIOLLA!!
A pretty sewing room decoration!
Happy Crafting

I love how you call it "our" craft room. So sweet. I can't wait for our little ones to really begin crafting with us in earnest as the years go by.
ReplyDeleteTerri, this is way cute! I'm going to have to make something like it to hang by my new calendar.
ReplyDeleteLove those little jars! I would have seen them and wanted them, but not know what to do with them! THanks for always opening my eyes to new ideas!
