Well this is what I am working on today. I got the great idea to try one out. I did not buy a pattern because I thought I would design my own version of the crayon roll. My first thought was I would have to make it toddler friendly of course but for most any age. After all it is never to young to start coloring. It had to be compact to fit in our to-go bag, and the closure had to be kid friendly as well.
This is what I came up with. I will put a tutorial up after I get all the kinks out. After all this is only the first one. I Just grabbed some scrap fabrics and this is the result. I might just list a few on Etsy to have them available to people who don't have the time to make one themselves.
*****
The closure is a Velcro. Easy peasy for toddlers to open and close.
It Holds 8 Jumbo washable Crayola crayons. Included when put on Etsy of course.
Folds together like a wallet. What little girl doesn't want a wallet to go in her little purse. What boy doesn't want to be like dad and have one to.
Finished product !! What do you think. If your interested in one I should have them up on etsy very soon. I am also selling them at our local bazaar in march. Or you can follow my blog for the tutorial coming soon, so you can make one yourself. I just need to make my measurements more precise.
Sophie already wants one.

ReplyDeletetutorial please!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a tutorial on this yet?
ReplyDeleteCool, have you tried doing this stuff from recycled clothes? I mean from fabrics you want to throw away? That gives it an incredible edge since you also reuse great deal of material. :-)
