Goodbye's are Never forever!

I have been thinking about this post all day. How I was going to express the deep love I have for all my local friends here in the Portland/Vancouver area. I have lived here for 20 years, and in the last six months have found the reason why I am still here.

Good friends are very hard to come by. If you have them, never take them for granted. They will prove to be your rock when you really need them, the people who make you laugh when you just want to cry. The people who will make your day in any form possible just because. I have been blessed to know people like this both in my crafty life and beyond. I am very careful when I choose my friends, because I believe that the people you surround yourself with will also implicate your personality to others.

Last night a few of my friends put together a dinner that I will truly never forget. Cupcakes, Laughs, crafty goodies and lots of hugs. I will seriously fly my tail here on a regular basis to be a part of whatever they put together.
Although it's sad to leave my friends, I want you all to know that this is good for me, for us as a family. moving forward is a big part of living, something I have always been so scared to do. Challenges will come and go, but in the end everything will be better for our family. This is very important to me as well, the husband needs to be happy, as well as the little one to. This will make us all very happy!

To those of you I am leaving behind only for a short time until my next visit, I say keep doing whatever it is you do to make people want to be a part of your life. Suck people in the way you did to me, with your creative genius and laughter. Eat cupcakes all the time because you deserve it!

Thank you my friends, you will be missed, but we will see each other again very soon.
California here we come!

  2. there is a lot of truth in this post.

I moved away from my dearest friends a few years ago (or they from me), but we still talk regularly, and when we do see each other -- there is no awkwardness whatsoever. (I was just in Portland/Salem seeing them last month actually)

    Good luck with your move!

Your advice at the end is genius.

  3. May your soul grow in ways you did not know were possible and all those whom you love remain in contact.

    Smiles,

  7. You're gonna make me cry again. I will so miss you, Terri. So not fair that we just met this summer. You're so kind, generous and sweet, you so expletiving cool and hip, and you're so much fun. I feel like a little kid who's discovered a candy store... steps in and is so delighted and happy... and after only a few minutes in... gets yanked out and is told to finish her lima beans. I know. I'm weird.

I will be looking soooooooooooo forward to your visits up. I'll miss you dearly! Thank you for being my friend. xooxoxom

  10. Welcome to Bakersfield! I just discovered you MQG gals and feel right at home. I've seen guilds in Santa Barbara & L.A. but not the central valley. If you get one going, I want to know!

  12. Are you trying to make me cry? I wish we would have met sooner, but I'm so glad we got to meet and spend the time we did. Like Monica said, you are so generous, kind and sweet. I will miss you at all our girl's nites. This will be a great move for you and your family. It will be a party whenever you come up for a visit!! xoxo

  15. Still not saying "goodbye". How about when I come down some time, I bring you a bottle of great Oregon pinot noir? Until then, I will picture splashing in the pool with Sophie and going out with all the fabulous new quilty friends you will meet. Bakersfield will be a better place for having you in it!

  16. I thought that if I waited a few days to comment that I wouldn't cry. I was so very wrong! I am SO very happy and fortunate and thankful to have met you this summer! You are one of the sweetest, kindest, most generous and genuine people I know.

Just imagine if we HADN'T met this summer! Now that is what would really suck!

I will see you soon. Somehow, someway, someday SOON. I love you, friend!

And I want in on that poolside fiesta!
