Fresh, right out of the box. My brand new machine, or what I like to call my new "WORKHORSE". I forgot to mention that they threw a great deal at me the other day when I looked at this machine.
The lady that helped me today was a very kind woman. She offered me a deal I could not refuse. I got an acrylic sew steady table in my size choice, FOR FREE. The taxes paid on my purchase, ALSO FREE. FREE LESSONS...... 10 year warranty!!!
A Free 1/4th inch foot attachment (32 dollar value) a Sample of Medera thread in white. And some other small items.
The table fits beautifully. I sewed my first stitch after letting my husband do the honors of plugging it in, after all he did buy it for me. Then I just stared at how beautiful it was. Makes you really understand why men get so excited about their toys.
I will love this machine, I can already tell. I had a HUGE smile on my face today when my sales lady (who calls herself, the Viking snob) says to me
"Welcome to the Viking Family"
Wow, what a nice gift. It sure sounds like you got a great deal. I Love the table, have never seen one like that. Have a wonderful time using it, I am sure you will get years of pleasurable sewing with it!
ReplyDeleteGreat deal. It is always nice to get extras.
ReplyDeleteI was very happy with the Husqvarna I had before my present machine...and it still works (but I've loaned it to a "new" quilter down the street). My problem was with the only dealer in the area.....and when I'd order things (special feet she didn't have in stock, etc.), she'd not process the order properly. One time, she had me in a bind as I was taking a class at a national quilt show and she forgot to place my order BUT lied and told me it was back-ordered. I had no choice but to contact the company directly and THEY told me it wasn't back-ordered and she'd never ordered it for me. Luckily, they offered to have their people AT the show hold one there for me to pick up on my way to class...so I was very satisfied with that gesture from them. Of course, when replacing that machine for one with more features, I felt I couldn't GO with Husqvarna because of their local person (40 miles away, actually) and I let Husqvarna know they lost a sale because of it as I went to another brand of machine instead. I'm sure with a NICE dealer (like you seem to have), you will be very happy with this machine for a long time!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new machine. I wish I could get a new one. I have a Viking Lily 555 but it's around 8 years old LOL I need a smaller, lighter machine for classes.
ReplyDeleteLast year around this time I wore out my White. My wonderful parents bought me a Huskvarna Viking 183. I love my machine. Yes it is a work horse. Opening that box and sewing on a brand new machine is like driveing a brand new car. lol You got a good deal with getting the table and extras too. Good for you and how nice of your Dh. Can't wait to see what you make with your new Work horse.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thrill! And good for you for "letting" dh plug it in for you. I'll look forward to seeing your new creations.
ReplyDeleteWow she is a beautiful Machine! You have to be totally thrilled! That is so nice to be able to have a new machine. I hope you have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteJennifer

ReplyDeleteOh, Terri, I know just how you feel! Isn't a new machine the best! Congrats and happy happy quilting and sewing on it...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great deal! I have a lower husqvarna model, and it's wonderful - the only feature I wish for is to have a "needle down" option! :)
ReplyDeleteOh she is a beauty and I bet she has that new machine smell, better than the new car smell!
ReplyDeleteOh....what a thrill! You will have so much fun with the new machine and I am sure that your list of things to do is growing by the minute.
ReplyDeleteMy green bunny arrived this week and it is so cute. I love that you chose the green one. I will let the grandkids name him/her for me. Thank you.
You have me sold, where do I go to get mine?
ReplyDeleteYou did well, Terri....great deal!

ReplyDeleteHi! I have a Husqvarna Viking Emerald 116. I am having a problem with it though. I can turn it on and the light comes on and everything. Then when I press the pedal, the machine makes a whirring noise, but the needle doesn’t move at all. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I fix it? Thanks.
ReplyDeletetwo possible solutions:
ReplyDelete1) The wheel on the right is still pulled out for creating a bobbin.
2) the bobbin lever on top of the machine is not all the way to the left.
i just got one and im haveing tention problems i was strieght stitching then all of a sudden a the next stitch was a rats nest on the underside.
ReplyDeleteOh, this review is great. I am too getting one of these sewing girl Emeralds. Can't wait to get her out of layaway at our shop. I was getting a little nervous about some of the things I read, but I feel better now after reading this & the comments too. Many thanks!!! You have made my day! Our store (a satellite store in JoAnn's that opened a year ago I found out) has very nice & helpful clerks working there.
ReplyDeleteI just got one today from my husband and 3 boys, for my birthday!!! It is quite beautiful. I'm too scared to break it in.lol I was using my mother in law's Viking 64 60. It is an awesome machine! Glad I have an Emerald to call my own. Happy Sewing!
ReplyDeleteTerri, I'm curious now after having this machine for a few years now...do you still love it? Have you replaced/upgraded since? I was looking at one today, on a crazy sale, as I've been hoping for a new machine...just not sure. Would love any insights you have now, a few years down the road. Thanks so much!
