Sophia's Polly Quilt Block # 1

The first block is complete.... Free-hand 12x12 inch patchwork and applique block. This is the first of what will be 6 blocks for now. I might decide to do more when it gets closer to being an actual quilt.

This will be Sophia's first quilt, so I had to put in lots of pink. Of course I got this fabric from the same Etsy shop that is providing our giveaway this week. FABRIC SUPPLIES.

Sophie was playing with them in the store last week when we decided to pick up a few fat quarters to see if we became inspired. Yes by we, I mean Sophie and I. She helps inspire me! I quickly decided a means for a quilt in my head and ordered more fabric. I can't help it, it really is an addiction.
This is the first block. What do you think?

  8. Love the Pink and Black! Very sophisticated looking. The stylized bird appliquies give it wimsy. Don't forget to put a lable on it with the date you made it. Your daughter can keep this all her life.
